About IZOD Center 

Countless LEGENDARY moments in sports and entertainment history have taken place at the IZOD Center. Today, the IZOD Center remains one of New Jersey’s leading concert and family show venues.


The IZOD Center opened in July 1981 with six sold-out shows by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band is the top selling act of all time at the Meadowlands having entertained over 2 million fans at 61 concerts (37 at IZOD Center, 24 at Giants Stadium).

The IZOD Center is the home of great artists.  American Idol has searched for rising stars during auditions at the IZOD Center in 2006, 2008, and 2010.  The IZOD Center hosted Z100’s Zootopia in 2005, 2008, and 2009. Some artists that have performed at the Arena include Billy Joel, Elton John, Madonna, U2, Celine Dion, Eric Clapton, Bon Jovi, Britney Spears, Eminem, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Enrique Iglesias, Aventura, Janet Jackson, The Who, AC/DC, Dave Matthews Band, and the Jonas Brothers – making the IZOD Center one of the top concert venues in the country.

The IZOD Center has also excelled in sports.  The Devils have won three Stanley Cups (1995, 2000, 2003) and the Nets advanced to the NBA Finals two years in a row (2002, 2003). The IZOD Center has also hosted the NBA All-Star Game in 1982, the NHL All-Star Game in 1984, and the NCAA Men's Final Four in 1996.

The Arena has received multiple industry awards since opening in 1981, including Arena of the Year (1984-1985, 1986-1989, 1993-1994) by Performance Magazine.  It was also a finalist for Arena of the Year by Billboard Magazine in 2005 and nominated in 2001 by Pollstar Magazine.  The IZOD Center has been ranked top 10 worldwide and top 5 nationwide for large arenas by Billboard Magazine (2002, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008).  In 2009, the IZOD Center was ranked 12th worldwide and 7th nationwide for large arenas by Venues Today.  The IZOD Center also achieved the highest gross in Harlem Globetrotter history in 2002 and was a six-time winner for the Globetrotter Slam Dunk Award.

Family Shows
There’s always something happening at the IZOD Center. It was not always the sporting events that kept this place packed. With corporate events and family shows including Disney on Ice, Disney Live, Harlem Globetrotters, the Wiggles, Sesame Street Live, Monster Jam, and Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey, we make sure kids of all ages stay on the edge of their seats.

More than 58 million people have attended over 5,000 events at the IZOD Center since it opened in 1981.
